一、研究定位
外国文学研究所是必威Betway语言与传播研究所（FOLKS)下设的一个分支研究机构。本研究所的研究方向为美国文学研究、英国文学研究以及比较文学研究。其研究宗旨为促进文学与文化研究，更好地服务必威Betway的学科建设，提高教师的科研与教学水平。
二、研究基础
外国文学研究所由所长郭建，顾问姚晓鸣，成员马春丽、周焕灵、曹喜梅、仝志敏、刘丽（秘书）共7人构成，其中教授1人，博士3人，副教授5人，讲师1人，均在文学研究领域具有一定的理论研究素养并取得一定的研究成果。近五年已发表核心学术论文9篇，已出版学术专著4部。主持完成国家人文社科基金项目1项，主持完成教育部人文社科基金项目2项。在研国家人文社科基金项目1项。研究所具有一定的学术积累和学术发展的潜力。
三、研究领域
国别文学研究：主要从事英国文学、美国文学重要作家作品研究；
文学理论研究：文学本身的叙事学理论、文学文化批评理论、文学思潮的特征与流变研究；
比较文学研究：比较诗学研究、平行研究、影响研究；
三个研究领域均服务于英语系专业教学、课程建设以及学科建设。
Introduction to Faculty of Foreign Literature Studies
Research Orientation:
As a branch of FOLKS (Faculty of Language and Communication Studies), the Faculty of Foreign Literature Studies specializes in American literature, British literature and comparative literature. It is committed to flourishing the studies of literature and culture, improving the research and teaching of the faculty, and promoting disciplinary construction of English Language and Literature as well.
Research Basis:
The Faculty of Foreign Literature Studies is composed of seven members: Guo Jian (Director), Yao Xiaoming (Consultant), Ma Chunli, Zhou Huanling, Cao Ximei, Tong Zhimin, and Liu Li (Secretary), among whom there is one full professor, three doctors, five associate professors and one lecturer. All the members have strong theoretical foundation and have achieved much in literary studies. In the past five years, they have published nine core academic papers and four academic monographs, and undertaken four research projects, including one National Social Science Fund Project and two Humanities and Social Science Fund Projects funded by the Ministry of Education completed, and with another National Social Science Fund Project under research. The Faculty has certain academic accumulation and potential for further development.
Research Fields:
1. National Literature: focusing mainly on the important British and American writers and their works.
2. Literary Theory: including the theory of literary narrative, the critical theories of literary culture, and the characteristics and evolution of literary trends;
3. Comparative Literature: consisting of comparative poetics, parallel research and the influence research;
The three fields all serve the teaching of English majors, and the construction of the course and discipline.
